Development communications, policy advocacy, media and public relations specialist with a diverse experience of working with education, health, economic growth and women empowerment projects. As a Policy Advocacy, Media and Communications Specialist for DFID’s largest communication and outreach programme in Pakistan, I have used print, electronic, social media, digital platforms and designed community-level public awareness programmes, media campaigns to communicate and increase the reach of DFID’s interventions. Rubab has 10 years’ management experience working in large and complex development programmes, related to health, nutrition, education and advocacy, citizen voice ‘s, accountability and demand generation programmes in the non-profit, INGOs, UN and global corporate management and consulting firms. Rubab earned MSC Sociology and Master in Public Administration (MPA), specialisation in Public Policy from Bahaudin Zakriya University Multan Pakistan. Rubab is leading on DFID Food Fortification Programme’s advocacy media and communications work in Pakistan. This includes management and implementation of advocacy, corporate communications and public awareness-raising campaigns. She is responsible for coordination with the Communications Department of the British High Commission, DFID, strategic planning and delivery advocacy, media, corporate communications and public campaigns, strategic business unit worth GBP 2 million. She has worked with the provincial and national government, political parties and civil society groups to bring about attention, understanding, and improved action in human rights particularly for health, education, nutrition and reproductive maternal neonatal and child health (RMNCH) that needs so much improved interventions. Since 2005, Rubab has been actively involved in raising and amplifying the voices of vulnerable groups from the grassroots level to policy level stakeholders and policy makers through establishing and utilizing different advocacy forums.
